Tiger Woods could make his 2012 season debut as well as play in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am at Pebble Beach Golf Links for for the first time in a decade next February.
Woods recently announced he will skip the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in late January, where he often begins his PGA Tour season debut and where he was been victorious seven times.
According to the Associated Press, Woods will instead participate in a European Tour event in Abu Dhabi that will be held two week prior to the start of the AT&T, which will be held, including practice rounds, Feb. 7-12.
Woods has not played in the AT&T since his 12th place in 2002. Woods hasn't played in the event since then because he's not fond of pro-ams and nor did he like Poppy Hills, which two years was replaced by Monterey Peninsula Country Club in the event''s three-course rotation.
Woods has had vast success at Pebble Beach, most notably in 2000. He rallied in the final round to win the AT&T in February and then returned to win the U.S. Open in June at Pebble Beach by a record 15 strokes.
In the 2010 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach, Woods had a final-round 75 and finished tied for fourth with Phil Mickelson at 287, three strokes behind winner Graeme McDowell.
