Bernard Langer is no different than many golfers who’ve transitioned from the PGA Tour to the Champions Tour. He hesitated, not knowing if he wanted to compete, or if the circuit on which he became one of golf’s finest international players was finally leaving him behind. What a difference a season makes.

John’s Daly: It’s Time For PGA Tour To Intervene
October 30, 2008
The most unique moment I’ve ever seen in a golf tournament wasn’t a monster Tiger Woods’ shot or a missed short putt prohibiting a win. The most unique thing I’ve ever seen was also viewed by millions of others on national television, and it was something you may not want to see again. I know [...]
PGA Tour: Final Month’s Push For Money List Top-125

September 24, 2008
Pro golfers may consider it a quandary, but it’s an enviable circumstance. Just what’s a pro to do when he turns age 50 — remain on the PGA Tour or embrace the Champions Tour as a new home? It’s not a difficult choice for some players. Many Champions Tour players have only found success on [...]

September 21, 2008
With all due respect to her remarkable young poise, there’s no better example of why teenage golfers shouldn’t turn professional than Michelle Wie.
And with equal respect to the LPGA and PGA Tours, whose tournaments I’ve been reporting on for more than 25 years, maybe the fault in young pro golfers turning pro and then floundering [...]
Ryder Cup: Easy To Laugh At, But Golf At Its Best

Aren’t [...]
PGA Tour: Tiger Who? Say Hello To Camilo Villegas
September 18, 2008
The longer Tiger Woods stays away, the more the PGA Tour and its fans will realize golf is healthy without the sport’s top-ranked player.
The lament was that without Woods since his injury and subsequent surgery, the circuit has less fan appeal.
Nonsense. If it’s charisma and good golf it’s seeking, say hello to Camilo Villegas.
Three years [...]
