Harrison Frazar made seven straight birdies, including a 35-footer Sunday on the 17th hole of the Nicklaus Tournament at PGA West to shoot 59 and become the second player in Q-School histoy and sixth in a professional tournament to eclipse 60. The only other player to shoot 59 at Q-school was David Gossett in 2000, although he failed to earn his PGA Tour card.

“I’m here to make as many birdies as I can for 108 holes, then get back on tour where I can play,” Frazar said, winless in 300 career PGA tournaments. “I wanted to shoot 59 for me, just to say I did it.

Frazar followed his 59 total with a 67 on Monday to lead the 28 recipients of PGA Tour cards for the 2009 season. Frazar had a 32-under 400 total and won by eight shots.

Frazar’s score will not count in the tour record books because Q-school is not an official event. Al Geiberger, Chip Beck and David Duval are the only players with a 59 in official play. Annika Sorenstam is the only LPGA Tour player with a 59.

Here are the 28 players who earned PGA Tour cards for the 2009 season:

Harrison Frazar, James Nitties, Derek Fathauer, Chris Stroud, John Huston, Robert Garrigus, David Berganio, Jr. , Webb Simpson, James Oh, Glen Day, Matthew Borchert , Jason Dufner, Jimmy Walker, Troy Kelly, Tyler Aldridge, Gary Woodland, Notah Begay III, Brian Vranesh, Y.E.
