U. S. Open, 2010 (Pebble Beach): An Early View

It’s almost two years away – the 2010 U.S. Open. But it will be in Pebble Beach. And, eat your heart out, that’s where I am sitting as I write this.

I am here at the invitation of a friend, James Raia, hanging out in the Media Press room.

I am a rookie golfer, more like a professional duffer, just picked up the game at the prodding of a friend, Lewis Greer, who ought to be playing golf for a living or at least writing about it.

Anyway…U.S. Open 2010 at Pebble Beach. Just under two years away, but the goods are already on sale. There’s a whole shop just down the hill from where I am sitting devoted to U. S. Open stuff…for an event that happens almost two years from now.

What’s up with that?
